Intestinal immunoregulation: lessons from human mendelian diseases
8/9/2021
Cerf-Bensussan and colleagues review the literature surrounding the onset of inflammatory bowel diseases by focusing on monogenic intestinal disease resulting from gene mutations, duplications, or inactivations, particularly in the epithelium or affecting immune cell functions. By understanding how these “Mendelian” diseases arise, insight into the key molecular pathways could provide druggable targets for treatment of IBD.
